After losing three in a row to the Reds, the Braves rebounded to get the win tonight. It took a while though, as the game was delayed for an hour and twenty minutes because of rain. John Smoltz pitched brilliantly as he went 8 innings and gave up 2 runs. Mahay came in and allowed some runners and got two outs. Bobby took him out and Peter Moylan finished it off. Moylan was awesome. He had a perfect inning. He threw one pitch, got the final out. On the offense, Chipper drove in two and the Braves scored 5 more to win the first of three from the Cards. Final Score: Braves – 7, Reds – 2.
Tommorow, Tim Hudson (15-5) will face Joel Piniero (4-2) on Sports South at 7:15.
