The Braves come back to Atlanta from after taking two of three away from the Florida Marlins. The Braves overall had a horrible road trip. At one point during the road trip they were 7 games back from the strong Mets. The Braves have gotten little or no starting pitching from the back end of the rotation(Reyes, Cormier, and Carlyle). John Smoltz, Chuck James and Tim Hudson have been caring the Braves all season. It really showed in that 10 game road trip against teams under .500. The Braves three horses will be facing the Mets this coming friday through sunday. The pitching matchups are Tim Hudson vs. John Maine, Chuck James vs. TBA, and John Smoltz vs. Tom Glavine. The pitching matchups really favor the Atlanta Braves in this all important series. If the Braves sweep the series they would become 1.5 games back of the division.
