Since the Braves are mathematically eliminated, this game is all about looking for positives coming from Atlanta. A quality start from Jo-Jo tonight is a positive, hits by Chipper Jones to keep his lead in the NL Batting Race is also a positive, and a Braves win, still, is a positive as well.
The Braves still have a chance to win over 85 games this year, which is still a good season even without a playoff berth.
It’s been a fun year around the Atlanta Braves. This is my first season blogging about the Braves and being active on other blogs around the internet, so this season has been even more fun for me. I think it’s going to be a very active and interesting offseason, so I’m looking forward to that.
As for tonight’s game, time to start some kids. I’m thinking along the same lines as gondee over at Talking Chop.
Here’s a lineup for tonight’s game that they came up with.
Yunel Escobar, SS
Martin Prado, 3B
Kelly Johnson, 2B
Jeff Francoeur, RF
Brandon Jones, LF
Clint Sammons, C
Brayan Pena, 1B
Willie Harris, CF
Jo-Jo Reyes, P
Now that would be fun!
Here are the updated NL Batting Stats:
Chipper Jones – .339
Matt Holliday – .338
Hanley Ramirez – .333
