Braves sent RHP Chad Paronto and catcher Corky Miller outright to Triple-A Richmond. Paronto cleared waivers after being designated for assignment. He’s now a free agent, and he’ll be offered minor league deals by several teams. — Rotoworld
I’m sure these guys would not have had major positions on the club, but would have made nice backups. I didn’t like these guys, but we needed depth, especially from the catching position. I’m sure Brayan Pena or Clint Sammons will take over the back up job, and provide a strong bench. I prefer Sammons because he has better defense (which is exactly what you want from your backup catcher), and a little more pop in his bat.
